Sandringham is the much-loved country retreat of Her Majesty the Queen. Set in the 60-acre gardens which have been called "the finest of the Royal gardens". The principal ground floor apartments are open to the public from Easter to October.

Norfolk Lavender, Heacham (4 km) www.norfolk-lavender.co.uk
The largest lavender-growing and distilling operation in Britain. Different coloured lavenders are grown in strips and harvested in July and August. Also herb gardens and a fragrant Plant Centre make this a beautiful experience.

Titchwell RSPB Nature Reserve (9 km) www.rspb.org.uk
A firm path takes you to three hides and on to the beach where a platform overlooks the sea. During the year many migrant birds can be seen in the beautiful surroundings.

Sea Life Aquarium & Sanctuary, Hunstanton (1 km) www.sealsanctuary.co.uk
At the Hunstanton SEA LIFE Sanctuary you will see Otters, Penguins and more than 30 permanent displays all showcasing the rich diversity of life under the waves. It also provides a safe haven for more than 30 sick, injured or orphaned seal pups
which are annually cared for at the Sanctuary.

Castle Rising Castle (16 km) www.castlerising.co.uk
One of the most famous 12th Century castles in England. The stone keep, built in around 1140ad, is amongst the finest surviving examples of its kind anywhere in the country and, together with the massive surrounding earthworks, ensures that Rising is a castle of national importance. The castle passed to the Howard family in 1544 and remains in their hands today.
